The 21st Pacific Basin Finance Economics Accounting and Management (PBFEAM) Conference

will be held on July 4 to July 5, 2013 in Park Hyatt, Melbourne, Australia

The School of Accounting, Economics and Finance, Faculty of Business and Law at Deakin University is pleased to announce the 21st Annual Conference on Pacific Basin Finance, Economics, Accounting and Management Conference. Hosted in partnership with Rutgers University and Foundation of Pacific Basin Financial Research and Development, Taiwan, the conference will take place at Park Hyatt, Melbourne ( http://www.melbourne.park.hyatt.com) Australia on 4th and 5th July 2013. The conference is open to invited guests only.

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS: Stephen Brown (NYU) and Ronald Masulis (UNSW)
 

CONFERENCE PURPOSE: The conference aims to bring together a mix of academics and practitioners. We welcome paper submissions from various main fields of finance, accounting and economics. This year, the conference seeks to invite papers that complement one another, in order to nurture the scholarly exchange of ideas and views.
 

KEY DATES:
- Submission due (extended): 15th Mar. 2013
- Acceptance announcement due: 25th Mar. 2013
- AUD 300 Early bird Registration due: 1st Apr. 2013
- AUD 400 Final Registration due: 30th Apr. 2013
- Conference: 4-5 July 2013 

SUBMISSION PROCESS: The submission deadline is 28th February 2013
 

The conference will consider only completed papers. On the cover page, please include title and each author's name, affiliation, email and phone number. On the second page, please include title and abstract only. 

Please email your paper (WORD or PDF) to: pbfeam@deakin.edu.au. In the subject line of your submission email, please indicate one of the following seven research fields that best describes your paper. By not including a research field, your paper may be allocated to a less suitable review panel.
- Asset Pricing
- Corporate Finance
- Banking and Regulation
- Markets Efficiency and Microstructure
- International Finance and Emerging Markets
- Accounting
- Economics 

Authors will be notified of the review committee's decision towards the end of March 2013. 

REGISTRATION: The conference registration fee is AUD 300 (early-bird; register by 20th April 2013) or AUD 400 (register by 30th May 2013). The registration fee covers tea/coffee breaks, two lunches, pre-dinner cocktail and conference dinner with 2-hours drinks package. Conference participants can enjoy a subsidized accommodation rate at Park Hyatt, Melbourne of $260 per room per night.
 

SPECIAL ISSUE:
- Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting (RQFA)
- Review of Pacific-Basin Financial Markets and Policy (RPBFMP) 

This year, RQFA and RPBFMP will each dedicate a special issue to selected papers presented at the conference. The two special issues will be co-edited by Professor Cheng-Few Lee and guest editors Michael Chng, Ed Lin and Lee Yao. A selected paper will go through at least one more round of review before it is accepted. 
 

As with previous conferences, authors can also have their submissions considered for publication in other affiliated journals. To be considered for publication, the author(s) should formally submit his/her paper to http://www.editorialmanager.com/requ and USD 150 submission fee (cheque payable to Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting) to the following address. Prof Lee will decide whether to publish the paper in AFPF, AIAPM, AQAFA or Advances in Pacific Basin Business, Economics and Finance, in accordance with the reviewer's comments.
